What is the secret of unified mind-body power?

[Read about Internal Coherence and advanced internal martial skills]

This principle, what the early masters of Tai Chi called “mind-body” relationship, is no longer limited to followers of the “new age,” but are being increasingly supported by hard science. I believe it’s kind of a built-in safety valve, that prevents someone who is not joyful, caring and compassionate from “getting it.” This means that the quality of person you are dedicated to becoming affects not only your heart, immune system, your chi (qi) internal energy, the quality of your relationships and how fast you age, but your ability to develop advanced martial art skills.

One reason that advanced internal martial art skill is so elusive is the link between what many call spiritual principles and mastery. Looking back, I first experienced this link after working with Sri Surath, an Indian master of Bakti yoga around 1979. I described my interaction with Sri Surath-ji in the feature article of the Summer 2002 edition of Qi Magazine. [LINK]. As I look back on it, my  interaction with the Brahman began my search to understand, and then help others understand, how to access the link between the physical, mental and spiritual. I ultimately learned that a strong relationship exists between the skill sets associated with internal martial art mastery and working on oneself, compassion for others and helping others. It is not a matter of being without occasional poor judgment or error. You can mess up and make mistakes, but you must always possess the intention to do better and help others.

These pages aren't made to convert those who believe unique and special powers were discovered by a meditating monk in a cave a thousand years ago. Although these pages address lost, or nearly lost, knowledge of the masters of the internal martial arts traditions, the pages, articles and training videos that will connect to this page (most of them free or at low cost) are for those who really love and believe in the potential of the internal martial arts, who believe there is a lineage to information more based on persistence, hard work and trial and error that sometimes produce amazing results.

I believe that at this time that it is critical that the approach to mind-body training described here gets presented to the right people. In my experience, students are learning the most advanced details at ever-increasing rates. For example, in some types of advanced lessons, where students used to take ten years or longer to understand the material, is sometimes now learned in a few months or half a year.

I think this is because of the times we are in, challenges we face and imminent mind-body evolution that we are now on the brink of. Soon increasing numbers of serious practitioners will be able to duplicate the abilities of the highest masters such as Tai Chi’s Yang Chen-Fu and Cheng Man-Ching, I Chuan’s Wang Xiang-zai and Aikdio founder Morihei Ueshiba.
